About Xolar’s Founder
Xolar was founded by Herbert Huemer a successful serial entrepreneur in the renewable energy sector with a 30 year track record in founding, developing and selling renewable energy companies in the solar thermal sector. He is recognised as one of the true pioneers in the solar thermal world and built his first solar thermal system in 1979. In 1991 he founded Huemer Solar GmbH and began developing, producing, selling and installing solar thermal systems from his garage. In 1993, together with a partner, he founded Sonnenkraft (‘sun power’) GmbH. Within two years Sonnenkraft was the No.1 solar thermal company in Austria.  In 1994 Herbert and his business partner founded GREENoneTEC with one other shareholder. GREENoneTEC was founded to operate as the production company for Sonnenkraft and other customers. In 2000, he sold his stake in Sonnenkraft and GREENoneTEC to VKR Holding (Velux). Following the trade sale, in 2001 Herbert founded Xolar Renewable Energy Group developing the some of the world’s most sophisticated solar thermal technology.  Â
